One hundred years ago, in an act of faith, vision and hope, William Hooper deposited a load of bricks in a vacant lot and our Church was born. God's blessings and that vital spirit has led this congregation through many transitions in its quest to serve God and our neighbors — in this community and around the world.
We affirm now, once again, that bricks and mortar a Church doth not make. It is we, whose hearts have been warmed by God's love, who seek to make that love known and believable — it is we who are the Church!
Now we, the Church, have seen the vision and committed ourselves to respond to the needs of tomorrow. As we go forth in the next millennium let us equip ourselves for mission and ministry; our hope and faith is in the aliveness of the Gospel and the God of history and of tomorrow.
